Construction Suicide Prevention Week 2025: Let’s Build Community

September 8–12 marks Construction Suicide Prevention Week, a critical annual observance during National Suicide Prevention Month. This year’s theme, BUILD COMMUNITY, urges all of us in the construction industry to step up—not just in building structures, but in building connections that save lives.

Why This Matters

What We’re Doing This Week

  • Monday, Sept. 8 at 1:50 p.m. CT: We will pause for a Reflective Stand-Down—a moment of silence to remember those lost and recommit to supporting each other.
  • Daily Toolbox Talks: Each day will include brief sessions focused on mental health resources, how to recognize warning signs, and how to offer help.
  • Team Check-Ins: Supervisors and peers will be encouraged to ask simple but powerful questions—“How are you really doing?”—and listen with intention.
  • Take the Pledge: We’re inviting every member of our team to sign the CSPW pledge to “BUILD COMMUNITY” and follow through with regular check-ins throughout the year.

Our Commitment

We’re integrating mental health awareness into our everyday safety protocols—not just for one week, but year-round. Resources like the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline are accessible 24/7 (call or text 988) OSHANational Association of Home Builders. Our hope is to create a workplace where asking for help is a sign of strength, and belonging is woven into every job site.

Together, we build more than structures. We build community. Let’s stand together—on-site and beyond—to ensure everyone goes home safe, healthy, and supported.
